'Lights on the Mountain' would make a good story - from the early days when folk ran around with 'Firebrands' to the modern world of 'Light Emitting Diodes.' Mountain Rescue Teams have always had the dilemna of needing small scale illumination for prolonged and extensive searches on mountains at night. Indeed, Hamish McInnes, one time leader of Glencoe Mountain Rescue team, introduced large, vehicle mounted search lights which lit up the whole glen, in the 1980's.
This headlamp belonged to Braemar Mountain Rescue team. who decided at one time, that these fairly heavy, rechargeable headlamps gave better illuminaton and battery life than other veraions. Mick Tighe acquired this one from them when the headlamps became redundant - whenever that was!
