Provenance

No visible markings on this heavyweight, steel karabiner and it could be of industrial rather than climbing origin. Either way the 'D' shape allowed for a wider opening of the gate so multiple ropes could go in/out more easily, and if it was for industrial use a thicker metal cable could have been used. We are not exactly sure where this one comes from - just one of the many items that have crept into the collection -unannounced.
