Donated by Phil Stevenson, one time member of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team, this is a classic
(if not very good) example of the steep ice era around 1960/65 when technology hadn't quite caught up with technique and folk adapted ice-axes to climb ever steeper ice. This one has had the shaft shortened rather crudely, and the pick has been heated and drooped. You'll find some original, unadulterated ones elsewhere in the collection.
