Provenance

A bit of a jumble this lot,(Used by Napier Family c.1959-1974) but we thought it better to keep them than throw them in the skip. Not much you can say about a load of old straps so we thought the Touring Qualification for joining the Scottish Ski Club in 1911 might provide a wee diversion. They were tough in them days!!

(«) Five different tours of fifteen miles each, ascend¬ing at least 3000 feet in all;
or (6) Three different tours of twenty-five miles each, ascending at least 4000 feet in all;
or (f) Any longer tours will receive special considera¬tion from the Committee.

5. Artificial aids, such as sealskin bands or crampons, may

6. For out-and-home tours the farthest point reached must be at least six miles "air-line-distance" from the start, and that point must be some definite natural feature, such as the cairn on a hill-top. The return route must be reasonably different from the out-route,
7. For out-tours, the distance need not be measured on an air-line, but may be between points which can be readily identified on a map.
