Emergency flare containers (explosive cartridges removed) Rubber case with holes for eight cartridges. Plastic and metal trigger.

On green one "SIGNAL KIT PYROTECKNIC PISTOL 16MM NO. 1 MK 3 GREEN 1370 - 99 - 965 - 5621 P.W. 093" and instructions for use. On top of both
"MINIFLARE PAT. NO. 986828"

Flares were the 'in' thing to carry for a while in the 1970's and 1980's until folk realised that when you really needed them, mostly in bad weather, no one could see them.
We think they also became illegal unless you had a firearms certificate, but we're not sure. Anyway, these ones, now with 'ammunition' removed, belonged to Mick Tighe.
