Pair of mountaineering boots. Standard RAF Mountain Rescue boots. Brown with laces missing. Rubber soles with metal studs. Metal eyelets and a leather loop at the back.

Pretty sure these boots came from John Hinde who was leader of various RAF Mountain Rescue Teams during the 1960's and 70's and who also worked for Outward Bound for many years after that. We think the 'John White' inscribed on the inside refers to a maker rather than a previous owner. We do know that various bootmakers were given contracts during WWII for a vast variety of boots, though John White is not one we've heard of before. These are certainly a fabulous pair of boots in near mint condition
