We can't find a maker's name on this interesting pair of skis, but suspect they are military, possibly from World War Two. Early skis were made from a single piece of wood and the tips had to be 'carved', often by steaming. The little pieces of wood on the tips of these skis are to stop the skis straightening out again. The hole in the heel of the ski often indicates a military connection as, having skied up to a battle zone, skiers would crawl the final few metres towing their skis on a piece of string.
