Rather like modern day supermarkets have their ‘own brand’, mountaineering/outdoor shops work in a similar way; in this case Graham Tiso has got Karrimor to make a rucksack to his specifications.
It’s not quite the same but the rucksack we have here in the collection is very similar to the Graham Tiso Standard Sac described opposite in a page from a 1970’s Tiso Catalogue. We note that it was ‘developed over the past seven years’ so ours may well be one from the evolutionary trial as it displays most, though not quite all, of the features described.
These vintage rucksacks may not have the same ‘comfort’ features of modern day versions but they were very robust and lasted a lot longer.
