Provenance

Donated by Roderick Manson, executor of Irvine Butterfield's will, this rather battered old anorak seems to have acquired an almost legendary status amongst Irvine's coterie of friends, having been worn on various historical occasions; from the re-building of Dibidil Bothy on Rhum to the photographic endeavour of Irvine's book 'The High Mountains of Britain'
Irvine Butterfield was a hillwalker, photographer, author, conservationist and friend of The scottish Mountain Heritage Collection. He donated lots of nice things in his will when he passed away in May 2009 - this anorak was one of them - thanks Irvine.
