Well used and faded cream and brown rucksack. Standard issue for RAF Mountain Rescue Teams. Leather fastening strap with two metal buckles. Canvas shoulder straps and nylon drawstring with plastic toggle. Leather strap in loop for ice axe.

RAF Rescue team member and Team Leader,(now retired), Dave Whalley tells us that the M.O.D. had these rucksacks specially made for the RAF Rescue teams in the 1960's and that he was issued with one when he joined in 1972. Other than that we don't know much about them. This one has certainly been around a bit.
