Provenance

Founder member of the Scottish Mountain Heritage Collection, Mick Tighe, is a British and International Mountain Guide and worked for many summers in the Central European Alps. It's common for alpinistes and mountain guides to use mountain huts as a base when climbing the high alpine peaks and Mick made a habit of taking a miniature bottle of whisky and a packet of shortbread to each hut as a wee present for the hut warden.
Having done this on one occasion in Switzerland he asked the hut warden the following day if he could buy a glass with the Swiss logo/flag on it as a souvenir. He was not allowed to buy one - he was given six instead!
