Provenance

A bit of a rarity this, as we didn't know that Karrimor made 'framed' rucksacks and we reckon this one must go right back to the early days just after WW2.
The Karrimor Bag Company was originally set up in 1946 by Charlie and Mary Parsons, to make cycle bags for their Rawtenstall cycle shop. It wasn't until 1958 that they started making rucksacks and the company history tells us that the first one was called the 'Sac de Grimpeur' and was frameless. Quite where our framed version fits into the equation we are not sure, but it's a lovely wee sack. We are not sure who HG was(initials in ink on the sack) or who donated it though we are delighted that they did.
