The S H & S logo on this stove stands for Samuel Heath & Sons (Birmingham) who were brass founders dating back to at least 1820. Based in Birmingham they produced motor lamps, shell cases for the military in both world wars and camping stoves, amongst many other items. Not sure when they started making camp stoves, but once Primus came out with their first stove in the late 1800's manufacturers all over the world began to copy them and Heath's, no doubt, were soon in the market. As with the one we have here in the collection, the S H & S logo was used sometimes and for some reason or other the brand name 'Thermidor' was used from time to time. Ours seems to be very similar to the World War 2 versions though the '59' beside the logo could be short for 1959.
Mick Tighe acquired this one in a junk shop for a few pence.
