Provenance

Koflach and Asolo were the two main producers of plastic boots when they took the mountaineering world by storm in the 1980's. Koflach were probably first on the scene but Asolo seemed to get ahead of the game eventually with boots like these. We did hear that one reason for Asolo's rise in the UK was because Koflach did not have, or lost, their UK distributor, which, whether true or not, gives us a hint of how products could succeed or fail very easily.
