Provenance

Gab Crampons are made by Gunther Gabriel at his factory in Germany. Seems like Gunther invented, and made, some of his own gear as well as making stuff for other companies such as Salewa, for which he made thousands of pairs of crampons, sticht plates and ice-screws.
The crampons we have here in the collection date from around 2005, though it looks like Gunther’s son, Andrea, is still producing them in 2022.
They’re calling them Scissor Crampons and they seem to be popular for general mountaineering, the good points being; suitable for strap on or clip on, strong, easily adjustable, heel bar, high heel and side posts and a solid make.
We’ve got a couple of Gab ice screws elsewhere in the collection - check them out.
