Dating from the 1960's, these boxes were destined for outdoor/camping shops, either for display or simply as a spare parts box for folk wanting to repair their stoves.
Paraffin stoves were the norm back then and the 'Primus' brand was king of the market, hence every outdoor shop had a range of spare parts of which Bahco (makers of Primus at the time ) provided a box. Though paraffin stoves have been pretty much superceded by gas and petrol stoves, there is a huge collector's market for the stoves and this box along with its contents is a collector's dream, making it a fabulous addition to our collection.
This particular box was once owned by Dave Chalmers who had a business called Clan Tent Co. in Greenock and he kindly donated it along with one of his tents when he retired - thanks Dave.
