We think it's fair to say that these are a pair of 'budget' skis - the sort you would buy for your kids or perhaps visitors to Norway would buy a pair like these to 'give it a go.'
Norwegian, Thorleif Aas and exiled Russian Helge Kønig formed the Norge/ Norske (both translate as 'Norwegian') Ski Company in 1926 and were a major manufacturer right through to the 1970's when plastic and glass fibre consigned them to the history books. They made much better skis than these, but these filled the bottom end of the market as suggested. They are laminated, and probably date from the 1960's. They've been well used and stood the test of time in their simplicity.
The Tempo Løipe (Løipe means track as in ski track) bindings are based on the Kandahar style of binding and like the skis, they are simple and effective.
The skis were kindly donated by the Watt family, of Inverroy, Roy Bridge.
