We had a box of these old ski boots that were destined for the skip so thought we'd better keep one pair for posterity.
We can't find a maker's name on them but think they are probably Norwegian dating from the 1960's. Because it is hard to walk anywhere in Norway during the winter due to the snow, Norwegians go for a ski instead and many towns and villages have a 'lys løipe' or lighted track to ski around in the dark winter months.
These lightweight boots are akin to the running shoes of other nations.
Because Norwegians learn to ski from a very early age they have a saying 'født med ski på benna' - 'born with skis on their legs'
