In a world of electricity and Light Emitting Diodes it's hard to imagine what life was like without them, but it's not so long ago that folk were using lanterns in the mountains to find their way, and it seems that Nier Feuerhand Storm Lanterns are still being made in 2013 and have a bit of a 'cult' following. We don't see lanterns in the mountains much these days, unless maybe in a hut, so one assumes that huts, barns, chalets and downtown bars are where they all hangout. We are pleased to have this little fella in our collection anyway. We think he might be from the 1960's and we know that Jim McRobert gave it to us. - Thanks Jim.
