North America/ Canadian
We don't know an awful lot about different types of snow shoes, but we are pretty sure this pair are North American/ Canadian, which is not too surprising since that's pretty much the home of snow shoes, and it's perhaps interesting to note that from the earliest times Native American and Canadian Indians used snow shoes to move around on snow covered terrain, whereas their European counterparts such as the Sami or Lapps used skis. The type of snow is the key apparently and we're sure someone somewhere must have written a book about it!
Anyway, our Canadian friend, Gerald Boyer, found this pair in his barn and kindly posted them over to us - another nice addition to our collection.
