The Bull Dog Brand seems to have been around for several hundred years and strangely, no one seems to have patented it, since a quick search of the internet in 2015 shows all kinds of Bull Dog brands ranging from skin care to hunting knives with the oldest seeming to be Bulldog Tools who have been around since 1780.
The set of Bull Dog camping pots and pans that we have here in the collection appear to have been produced by Wm. H. Hotton and Co. in Studley, Warwickshire and probably date from the 1960/70's though we are probably taking a calculated guess on that.
It doesn't look like Hotton and Co are still in existence though their products seem to have been popular for a while back in the 1970's and while they don't give the set a name, item D in the 1970's Ellis Brigham advert opposite looks very much like our set.
This set came with a job lot of mountaineering gear that we bought on the internet for a few pounds in 2015.
