Provenance

It seems that brothers with the surname Clarke, set up a clothing business called Clarke's Craghoppers way back in the 1950's in Hebdon Bridge, Yorkshire. You'll fnd a pair of their breeches elsewhere in the collection.
About 1975/6 a firm called G&H Products took over Clarkes since the brothers were retiring. G&H were subsequently gobbled up by the Regatta Group in 1995 and somewhere along the way Clarkes disappeared leaving Craghoppers as the trading name. Craghoppers are still going strong in 2015, though rather confusingly, they claim to have been established in 1965, so we are assuming that's when G&H began life and the poor old Clarkes brothers have been written out of history!
Anyway, this pair of breeches belonged to a lady called Pam Cain who was a long time member of the Ladies Scottish Climbing Club. She kindly left the 'breeks' and several other items to our collection when she passed away in 2014.
