Provenance

Mountain Guide, Dave Siviter, was also a lecturer in engineering at Bangor National College in North Wales back in the 1960's. There was very little gear for rock climbers to be found in the shops in those days so guys like Dave tended to make their own.
Fellow Mountain Guide, John Brailsford, invented the MOAC about this time, a unique, wedge shaped 'nut' for placing in rock fissures - there was also a smaller version, the Baby MOAC.
For some reason or other, Dave decided to make his own, and kindly donated it to our collection 50 years later.
For all intents and purposes, it's a Baby MOAC, though we think Dave made his before the smaller version appeared on the open market.
