Provenance

Pioneer Scottish climber and Mountain Guide, Allen Fyffe, got this set of gaiters for an expedition to Broad Peak in 1980, though it doesn't look like he used them.
We are not sure if they were designed for use as over boots with crampons fitted, or for pottering around in camp without mountain boots.
They seem to be made from some sort of closed cell foam, rather like a sleeping mat, but we are not sure of the actual material. They are very well made and in perfect condition ... thanks for donating them, Allen
