Provenance

We can’t do ‘touchy feely’ on the computer and while we understand there has been some work done on internet aromas, the smell has not yet arrived!
Sadly, that means you will be missing out on the wonderful feel and smell of this fabulous pair of boots which although around fifty years old, are in mint condition.
Made by the French bootmaker, Richard Pontvert, the Galibier range of boots were the Rolls Royce of footwear back in the 1970’s , with the RD Super Guide probably the best ever. Using the French Alpinist, Lionel Terray as a talisman to market the boots, this pair appear (from the name on the box) to be called Nilgeri, though there is a Jannu on the sole. Most folk called them Terray’s back in the day.
David Little kindly donated the boots, having bought them back in 1978 just before he took up sailing for a hobby! The boots were consigned to the loft and then ultimately to us...thanks David.
