Provenance

The British have been wearing waistcoats for centuries, though mostly on the male of the species and more often than not, for formal occasions rather than recreational.
It’s interesting then, perhaps, that this form of clothing hasn’t become as popular in the UK as it has on the continent.
The principal is good - a nice warm, core body temperature that pumps blood into the arms which are more free to climb, ski, or whatever.
Though we can’t find out much about him, it seems that Roger Egger and his company, Egge, specialised in producing down gear, some of which was used on Swiss Everest Expeditions.
A nice little edition to our clothing collection which was kindly donated by our friend and Mountain Guide, Sam Crymble.
