Provenance

Metolius began life in the 1980's when an American guy called Doug Phillips started making climbing gear and deciding to name his company after the nearby Metolius River in Oregon.
One of his creations was the Three Cam Unit (TCU) which appeared around 1983/4 with updated versions still available as we write in 2019.
TCU's were, and still are, popular in the USA, though not so many UK based climbers use them.
The two we have here are fairly early versions, possibly late 1980's, and were kindly donated by Jonathon Winter.
