Provenance

Gerry Peet was a mountaineer, a member of the Scottish Mountaineering Club and for many years custodian of the C.I.C. Hut on Ben Nevis. Seems he was also pretty good with wood and metal too as he made this lovely little axe for his son, Duncan, in 1958. When Duncan outgrew his wee axe it was sold to his pal, Roy Scott...it is Roy’s son, Mark, whose name is engraved on the pick ...see picture opposite.
Time moved on and in a roundabout way the axe made its way back to the Peets and ultimately to us when Duncan was having a clearout.
Thanks all round..nice little story, nice little axe.
