Provenance

The Italian company, Bonaiti, go way back to the 1830’s when they started making nails, rings, chains, cottar pins and wire for the agricultural market. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that the company teamed up with famous Italian mountaineer, Richardo Cassin, to produce the first steel karabiners. A host of new and innovative versions were to follow over the decades. The pair we have here in the collection date from 1979/80.
Bonaiti decided to change its name to Kong in 1977, telling us that its mission remained the same,
”To manufacture safety where risk is the protagonist.”
Kong are still going strong in 2022, producing a vast array of products ranging from the functional to the bizarre.
The change from Bonaiti to Kong created a little collectors market so we are pleased to have these two little fellas in the collection.
