Provenance:
Dating from the 1950s this fabulous egg carrier is a timepiece of the tale, the tale being the mass movement of folk to the great outdoors having lived (those who survived) through the misery of World War Two. Caravans were expensive, motorhomes yet to be invented, so tents & camping was the norm for working class folk, and to compliment this there was a vast array of gismos and gadgets to make the holiday more enjoyable.

A good fry-up was the standard breakfast of the era so fresh eggs were required to go with the bacon and sausages, a carrier was required to get them fresh (rather than boiled) to the pan.
