Not sure exactly what era this military oven comes from but similar stoves in the collection (see related items) date from around 1940 and were in use during World War Two and for a decade or so afterwards. We are pretty sure this interesting and rather large item has a similar history.
It would have originally come with a No3 Field Cooker which had double burners fitting nicely into the ready made holes in the bottom of the oven which has hot plates to dissipate the heat.
We can’t find anything regarding the makers, DJ Morgan of Bodmin, Cornwall – probably one of the many small engineering companies given contracts by the Ministry of Defence back in the day.
Mick Tighe acquired this oven somewhere along the way but surprisingly, for something so large, he can’t remember where or when. All we need now is a No3 cooker..
