Provenance:
Looking very much like a Black’s anorak, (several of which you will find in the collection) we are calling this a replica as there are no markings to show if it is a Black’s or another make.

We know that the cotton material used for making Black’s anoraks was readily available in the 1960/70s and folk often made their own. Other companies made replicas too but didn’t put their own labels on for fear of patent laws. Indeed Black’s often warned potential customers to beware of cheap imposters.

So, a wee bit of a mystery but an interesting addition to the collection, even though it is a wee bit battered and worn.
