Provenance:
Seems that Daimon torches/flashlights can be tracked back to a German guy called Paul Schmidt who founded the ‘Daimon’ company in 1896 and by 1903 his factory was producing batteries, bulbs, flashlights and other electrical products. We can’t help but note the remarkable similarity between Daimon and French company Pile, both seem to be doing similar things at similar times.

Anyway, Daimon continued making flashlights with one version, the Telko, much used by the German army during World War II, becoming a much sought after item by military collectors. The 2361 we have here in the collection is a later, 1950s, version which once belonged to Hans-Dieter Schwartz who has – rather ingeniously – adapted it to form a headlamp to fit on a helmet he ‘borrowed’ from a building site!
