Provenance:
Seems that Eugen Bauer began life in the early 1900s making film projectors, progressing onto movie cameras after they had been taken over by the Robert Bosch Group in the 1930s, Bosch retained the Eugen Bauer brand name.

As usual with cameras, still & movie, there are a multitude of models and variations leaving us unsure of exactly which model this one is. We do know that it can take Agfa 8mm film and that the donator has provided us with a standard and wide-angle lens.

Hans-Dieter Schwartz bought this camera in 1957 and used it along with his brother, Klaus, before finally passing it on to us. We’ve asked them if there is some good footage to go along with it.
