Inscription description
White label inside reads “SAC MILLET NO. MADE IN FRANCE”
As the title implies Sac Millet are better known for their rucksacks, though, as we can see, they also produced a range of other gear for the outdoors as with the gaiters we have here in the collection.
The French company Millet (meelay) produced high quality rucksacks many of which can be seen elsewhere in the collection, the gaiters are of a high quality too. Not much Millet gear came across the channel as it was quite expensive and, curiously, there was a company called Millets in the UK which sold ex-army and lower quality gear than Millet, Brits went for the cheap stuff!
Dating from the 1980s, this pair did make it across the channel, unfortunately we don’t know who brought them.
