Provenance:
Bit of a curio this fella as we’ve never seen the like before and when it comes to ‘drive-in, screw-out’ pitons (which this one is) it would appear to be the runt of the pack. It’s in mint condition never having been used, which is probably for the best as we are not sure that it would work well being too short and too fat. Cassin did turn out some good, robust gear back in the 1970s, when we think this one appeared, robust yes – good – not so sure, and we aren’t about to go out and try it.

We found it when raking through a big box of old screws – not sure how it got there.
