Provenance:
In the modern world Go-Pro relates, almost universally, to wee cameras that you can strap on your climbing and biking helmet, but back in the 1970s it was a California based company producing gear for climbing and the outdoors. New ideas for rock climbing protection are always coming along and this was one of them. Doesn’t seem like they were a huge success with one American climber asking if anyone had taken a fall on one and survived!

Rock ‘n Rollers seem to have been superseded by Ball Nuts (we have a Lowe-Byrne Ball Nut elsewhere in the collection) various version of which are still available in the 2020s.
