Provenance:
We had one of these wee fellas listed on his own when we first set up our website, so decided to find him a couple of pals for company. So, three Cassin pitons dating from the 1960s when climbers were still using pitons for protection on rock climbs. Cassin of Italy and Stubai of Austria were the main producers of the pitons imported into the UK back then. A guy called Denny Moorehouse and his partner Shirley Smith slowly redressed the balance when they began production of their own brand of pitons, Clog, in the late 1960s, based in an old cinema in Deiniolen, North Wales.

Nuts, chocks, wires, wedges, hexagonals, Friends and all kinds of other paraphernalia came along soon after, consigning pitons, pretty much, to history.
