Provenance:
There’s a certain ‘homemade’ look about this pair of skis and the absence of any maker’s name helps with that theory. There has been a slot – now blocked up – for an earlier set of bindings and screw holes on the top speak of a subsequent set. Lots of folk were making their own skis in the early days as there were very few major manufacturers. Whatever the background, they are well made from a single piece of wood and we are guessing around 1940’s possibly earlier.
