Provenance:
These wedges were the earliest form of rock climbing protection, along with hexagonals, and date back to the 1960s. A guy called John Earnshaw had perfected a little metal wedge for rock climbing protection in 1963, Clog & Troll capitalised on the idea soon after, making their own versions from aluminium. The four we have here in the collection come from Ken MacTaggart, he’s threaded them on an early tape sling – thanks Ken.
