A nice little cluster of camp cooking pots here, kindly donated by Alasdair Thin. 1950’s style, a time when the manufacturers hadn’t got around to fancy nesting pots and pans with custom handles to fit and when folk went out and bought piecemeal. It might be interesting to note that aluminium hadn’t been around that long and among many other things it was ideal for lightweight camping.
we love the lightweight egg poacher; not many campers use them in the modern world. The kettles nearly always had a screw top back then to seal in the contents. Loose tea would be brewed in it for breakfast and cold water added to what was left for a refreshing cold tea drink on the day’s hike.
A nice little timepiece of the tale- thanks Alasdair, though the the set actually belonged to his father, J Gordon Thin.
